Public participation in decision making

The public has the right to participate in making important decisions in the field of nuclear energy, as provided for by the Law on Nuclear Safety of the Republic of Lithuania. This aims to ensure transparency in the processes of construction, operation and decommissioning of nuclear energy facilities, as well as in the management of radioactive materials, and to create opportunities for public information and oversight.

How to participate in decision-making?

  • During decision-making processes, the public may review the documents prepared for decision-making.
  • Within 1 month from the publication of information about the submission of the documents, written proposals may be submitted by email to: [email protected]

Currently, decisions in which the public could participate are not taking place.
