Planned international procurement for the expansion of the existing solid radioactive waste storage facility

Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant, operating under the name Altra, is preparing for one of the most important stages of the nuclear power plant decommissioning process – the dismantling of two reactors. To implement this stage, it is necessary to expand the existing Solid Radioactive Waste Storage Facility, which will be used to store long-lived radioactive waste removed from the reactor zones.

As part of this project, an international procurement for design and consultancy services related to the expansion of the storage facility is planned to be announced in the near future. The procurement will be published on the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) electronic procurement platform ECEPP.

Providers of design and engineering consultancy services are invited to register in advance in the ECEPP system, review the information published in the General Procurement Notice, and monitor updates regarding the announcement of the planned procurement and subsequent procedures.

The procurement will be conducted in accordance with the EBRD Procurement Policies and Rules, ensuring international openness, transparency, and equal competitive conditions for suppliers from different countries. More information about the planned procurement and registration on the platform is available here.
