Incident Report

We inform you that on March 31 of this year, after 7:00 PM, the fire protection system was activated in the electrical cable room of Unit 2 at the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant, which automatically triggered the water-based fire suppression system.

A team of firefighters promptly arrived at the scene. After no signs of fire were detected, the premises were inspected, and it was confirmed that there was no fire hazard. The response team then left the site.

The company will investigate this case as an unusual event in order to determine the causes of the fire protection system activation.

The incident has no negative impact on radiation safety, and decommissioning activities at INPP continue as usual.

The State Nuclear Power Safety Inspectorate (VATESI) has been informed about the incident.
