At the Information Centre, complex nuclear engineering processes are presented in a clear and engaging way for visitors of all ages. During the exhibition, you will learn how Lithuania’s nuclear legacy is being managed, what challenges are being addressed today, and why this work is essential for future generations.
The tour begins at a detailed scale model of the power plant, offering a glimpse inside the facility and helping visitors understand how the RBMK reactors – among the most powerful ever built – operated. You will also learn about the principles of nuclear fuel management and storage, radioactive waste management solutions, and the projects that ensure the safe treatment and disposal of hazardous radioactive waste.
One of the exhibition’s highlights is an interactive virtual reality experience that allows visitors to explore unique areas of the power plant and see locations where decommissioning work is currently underway. Those looking for a more hands-on experience can try on authentic decommissioning team protective clothing and take part in the interactive educational game #Enervironment, where participants dismantle a virtual nuclear power plant and responsibly manage its radioactive waste.
The Information Centre exhibition is also an excellent destination for families with children. Young visitors can explore scale models, discover innovative technologies, and learn about nuclear energy through engaging interactive activities.
